Follow the steps below to upload a PDF to a report and link to a specific page.
-
Add the PDF to your report node:
-
Navigate to the report node where you want to add the link.
-
From the Edit screen, click on the Media tab.
-
Add the PDF to the PDF upload section.
-
-
Obtain the PDF's direct URL:
-
Go to the Media Library by selecting Content > Media from the top menu.
-
Search for the name of the file you just uploaded.
-
Click on the file name link.
-
To get the direct file path relative URL of the PDF, click on the file name link to open it in a new window and copy the URL. For example, a PDF uploaded with the file name “Global-Weather-Hazards-12182025.pdf” will have a URL that looks like this: https://fews.net/sites/default/files/2025-12/Global-Weather-Hazards-12182025.pdf
-
-
Append the page number syntax:
-
Add #page=[number] to the end of the PDF's URL, where [number] is the desired page number. For example, to link to page 3 of a document named “Global-Weather-Hazards-12182025.pdf," the full link would be:
https://fews.net/sites/default/files/2025-12/Global-Weather-Hazards-12182025.pdf#page=3
-
-
Create the link in your section content:
-
Return to the Edit screen for the report node, and navigate to the section content block where you want to add the link.
-
Highlight the text you want to turn into a link (e.g., "View the annual report starting on page 3 (PDF)").
-
Click the Link icon in the WYSIWYG editor toolbar.
-
Paste the modified relative URL (including the #page=3 part) into the Link URL field.
-
Note: You don’t need to paste full link, just the part after http://fews.net. For example, /sites/default/files/2025-12/Global-Weather-Hazards-12182025.pdf#page=3
-
-
Save your report.
