June 24, 2025 Release Notes

The following work for the FEWS NET website was included in the release on June 24, 2025 for the relaunch of the website after a brief pause.

Functionality Fixes

Temporarily disabled MailChimp, and tied to our test audience to prevent emails from going out until the email list can be verified or a new list created (FNW-2107).
Fixed error discovered during testing, that was caused by visiting a country page after viewing a translated report (FNW-2115).
Removed X from the social icon list in the footer and hero (FNW-2118).

The following tasks were required for the developers to restart the FEWS Net website:

Cleared a lock from Terraform that was happening when we tried to deploy to our pre-production development environment (FNW-2093).
Developers set up their local development environments and tested everything was functional (FNW-2097).
Restored our development, UAT, and staging pre-production environments (FNW-2104).
Confirmed access to the Shapefiles for use in the site (FNW-2109).
Tested site before it went live to the public for any issues or other outstanding tasks (FNW-2098).
Load testing - did a load test of the production environment before it was published live to the public to ensure it could handle the potential increased user traffic upon restarting the site (FNW-2112).
