The Exchange Rate Comparison Chart Visualization displays a line chart comparing Exchange Rate values with each other.
1. Select primary parameters
Several combinations of parameters can be used to generate useful Visualizations. The typical use cases are:

Select a specific exchange rate and set the From currency to USD

Select a country/countries and set the From currency to USD

Select both the From currency and the To currency
Note that showing multiple exchange rates on one chart may be confusing if one or more currencies is much stronger or weaker than the others.
Select specific exchange rates: Choose one or more exchange rates to display. You can use the search box to search for specific exchange rates by currency, rate type, and data source.
Select a country: Choose one or more countries.
Select from currency: Select one or more From currencies.
Select to currency: Select one or more To currencies.
2. Select filters
Period start: Enter a start date as the first day of the month to limit the time span of the data included.
Period end: Enter an end date as the last day of the month to limit the time span of the data included. If no period end date is included, the Visualization will update automatically as new data is published.
Select exchange rate type: Filter by the type of exchange rate (Government, Interbank, Secondary markets, or auctions). Typically this field is left blank and all available rate types will be applied.
Select exchange rate indicator: Filter by the exchange rate indicator. Typically this field is left blank and all available indicators will be applied.
Saving the Visualization
After generating the Exchange Rate Comparison Chart, you can save it to your account for future reference using the Save Visualization button in the upper right side of the page. Enter a Title and Description in the popup and click Save Visualization.
You can access saved Visualizations from the Saved Visualizations tab.
Interacting with the Exchange Rate Comparison Chart
You can interact with the Exchange Rate Comparison Chart in the following ways:

Hover over a point on the chart to view more details.

Single click on a legend item to exclude it from the chart. Click again to add the legend item back.

Click the Download icon to the right of the Visualization title to access the following options:

View in full screen: Opens the charts in full screen.

Print chart: Opens the print options for the chart.

Download PNG: Downloads the current selection from the timeline as a static image PNG file with FEWS NET and USG logos.

Download CSV: Downloads the data used for the Visualization as a CSV file.|

Download XLS: Downloads the data used for the Visualization as a XLS file.|

View data table: Displays the data used for the Visualization below the chart legend.

Click the Copy icon to the right of the Visualization title to copy the Visualization URL. The link can be used to open the data Visualization in a new tab or window, and the parameters can be added or edited directly within the URL.
