March 2026 Release Notes

The following list of features, updates, and bug fixes are included in the latest Sprint 26.02 release to the FEWS NET Data Platform.

New features

Add ‘copy link’ button to all interactive visualizations (DATA-5062)

Added a button to the headers of interactive FDW visualizations to allow users to copy the URL for an individual or composite visualization.

Updates

Add ‘extra’ to DataPointAdmin detail page (DATA-4718)

Improved the ability to manage Semi-Structured data in FDW by showing ‘extra’ fields on the Data Point admin detail screen.

IPC-aligned data

FDW can now ingest and visualize data that uses a new IPC-aligned classification scale. This work was completed under the following tickets:

  • Add new IPC-Aligned Classification scale and revise import template (DATA-5111)

  • Add IPC-Aligned phase classification to all FIC maps (DATA-5109)

Add created and modified date fields to the Data Freshness Tool (DATA-5178)

Date created and date modified fields can now be seen in the popover on hover for the Data Freshness Tool.

FDE updates

The following updates were released to the FEWS NET Data Explorer (FDE):

  • Added IPC-aligned to the classification scale filter for Acute Food Insecurity data (DATA-5113).

  • Filtering by Data Source is now available for all Explore data pages (DATA-4925).

  • Updated the Country dropdown for the Acute Food Insecurity visualization builder to only include countries with data for at least one period (DATA-5085).

Bugs

Error when creating DataSeries from admin pages (DATA-4899)

A 500 error was given when attempting to create a new Data Series using the admin pages in FDW for the Exchange Rate and Market Product domain. Data Series can now be added from the admin pages normally.

Trying to open the calculated price indices records results in 500 error (DATA-5084)

A 500 error was given when trying to open the calculated price indices records from the admin page in FDW. Calculated price indices records can now be accessed as expected.

Extra column field largely stretched (DATA-5140)

The Extra column field appeared largely stretched, making it difficult to see the Data Collection records. The field has been resized to the expected length.

Fix a bug in exchangerate datasourcedocument filter (DATA-5146)

Filtering by datasourcedocument on the /exchangerate endpoint of the API erroneously returned no Data Series. The filter now returns existing data as expected.

FDE bugs

The following bug fixes were released to FDE:

  • The Population source dropdown on the Spatial topic page was not working as it was showing Spatial Source Documents instead of Population Source Documents. You can now select a population source as expected (DATA-5022).

  • Some fields were being shown in the Metadata tab for the Spatial topic page. The Metadata tab now shows all source and population metadata information (DATA-5076).

  • The icon for the Source_documents field in the Metadata tab of the Crop topic page was not showing. The icon is now showing as expected (DATA-5117).

  • Corrected a minor spelling error on the account creation screen (DATA-5142).
