Point value vs interval data
Some data in the WB sheet, such as percentage of Poor households, has both a summary point value and an interval around that point value. LEX uses the point value in map view visualizations but presents the interval in the compare screen.
Key parameters
A key parameter is a main food or income source in a livelihood zone, providing over 5% of 2,100 kcal/person/day for at least two wealth groups or over 10% for one wealth group, or serving as a major source of food or income in the lean season.
2100 kcal
LEX uses 2100 kilocalories per day per person as the standard for minimum food energy needs in line with the internationally accepted minimum requirement. Both food and income sources are converted into kilocalories allowing for easy comparison.
Period of validity
Each BSS in LEX requires a Valid From Date. In general, the Valid To Date is left empty until a new BSS is uploaded for that Livelihood Zone. This offers flexibility for data managers and allows users of the front end UI to easily see the most recent data.
Livelihood Zones and Baselines
The Livelihood Zone serves as the primary spatial unit for LEX maps. Users interact with the global map interface to find and select these zones based on their location. Once a zone is selected, the application retrieves the associated baseline data for analysis. If there is more than one Baseline available for a Livelihood Zone, users can choose between them.

Payment in kind
For payment in kind the database requires two products: one for the service being performed and the other for the payment.
