News Articles Dashboard

The News Articles Dashboard provides news articles from a variety of sources being monitored by FEWS NET. Once an hour, the FEWS NET Data Platform automatically checks for and adds new articles published by the monitored news sources.

Options

The available parameters for searching and filtering news articles are:

  • Search: performs a text search of the news source name, article title, article summary (in English and the original language) and keywords fields

  • News source: returns articles from a particular news source (e.g., Bloomberg)

  • Source country: returns articles for which the news source is assigned the selected country of origin. Multi-country or international news sources are listed as International Reference.

  • Language: returns articles originally published in the selected language

  • Tags: returns articles from a news source associated with the selected tag(s)

  • Period: returns articles originally published within the selected date range

News articles table

Article entries contain the following information:

  • Source: the news source that published the article

  • Title: the title of the article with a link to the original article

  • English summary: an auto-generated summary of the article, in English. If the article was published in a language other than English, it was first translated and then summarized.

  • Full text: a plain text version of the article, in English

  • Published: the date and time the article was originally published (if available)

  • Keywords: keywords auto-generated from the English article or translation

  • Source country: the country of origin assigned to the news source. Multi-country or international news sources are listed as International Reference.

  • Tags: tags associated with the news source

  • Language: the language in which the article was originally published
